Fans of Childish Gambino will need to wait a little longer to see the superstar, as the American artist recently made a major announcement about his upcoming tour.
American singer Childish Gambino has canceled the Australian and New Zealand leg of his New World tour.
In a statement to ticket holders, Gambino – also known as Donald Glover – informed fans that he had no option but to cancel his upcoming visit to Australia and New Zealand as he continues to recover from surgery.
Unfortunately, my recovery is taking longer than anticipated,” he said. “As a result, the upcoming concerts in Australia and New Zealand are cancelled.
Disappointing my fans is one of the last things I would ever want to do.
I truly appreciate all the support you’ve shown, and I promise to do everything I can to give you an unforgettable experience when the time is right. Thank you.
Ticketek and Frontier Touring have informed customers that refunds will be processed automatically and will reflect in purchasers’ accounts within 14 to 21 days.
This decision follows Gambino’s earlier cancellation of the remaining North American, UK, and European tour dates after a hospital visit in October.
Following my performance in New Orleans, I visited a hospital in Houston to address a concerning ailment that had surfaced,” he revealed on X, previously known as Twitter.
Childish Gambino’s The New World tour was originally scheduled to begin in Auckland on January 28, followed by six performances across Australia.
The Australian leg of the tour featured stops in Brisbane and Perth, along with two shows each in Melbourne and Sydney, after high ticket demand prompted the addition of extra performances.
