Richmond defender Noah Balta : could face jail time after footage presented in a New South Wales court showed the 25-year-old assaulting a man outside a venue in Mulwala, as reported by 9News court reporter Amber Johnson.

Balta is scheduled for sentencing on April 22 after pleading guilty to attacking 27-year-old Thomas Washbrook at 12:30 a.m. on December 30.

CCTV footage shown in court revealed Balta charging at Washbrook from behind, knocking him to the ground, and delivering multiple blows to his head. He then attempted to strike another individual before leaving the scene.

The victim suffered a deep cut on his forehead, and Balta was charged by NSW Police the following day.

CCTV Footage Reveals Shocking Attack Outside Mulwala Venue

Balta was suspended for Richmond’s first four games of the AFL season, with 9News reporter Tom Morris stating on X that he may return for rounds five and six before his court sentencing.

On Thursday, Balta pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The Tigers have chosen not to comment on the matter until after his sentencing.
