The 2025 Kia Tasman is set to arrive in Australian showrooms within the next six months, with prototypes still undergoing final testing on local roads before a global rollout.
A black Tasman, likely the X-Pro flagship model based on its all-terrain tyres, was recently spotted in Sydney by Drive, marking one of the first local sightings without camouflage.
The Kia ute is expected to hit Australian showrooms in June or July this year in a dual-cab configuration, with pricing details to be revealed closer to launch.

The ute’s design has sparked mixed reactions, but Kia says customer perception is gradually shifting.
“You’re all aware of the initial feedback on its aesthetics, but we’re seeing a noticeable change in opinions,” said Kia Australia’s General Manager of Marketing, Dean Norbiato, in December 2024.

“As people spend more time seeing and experiencing the vehicle, opinions are evolving beyond the first impressions.”
Norbiato also noted that recent customer research, including a week-long study with the Tasman, has reinforced Kia’s confidence in the model’s sales potential. He emphasized that the ute’s design, features, and overall positioning align well with the company’s volume targets.
