Emma Stone was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role as Billie Jean King in Battle of the Sexes. Both she and Billie Jean walked the red carpet to bring attention to the cause, which needed it.

Billie Jean told People, “Every generation has to fight for equality, and now it’s Emma’s turn with her generation.” Emma replied, “Billie Jean has been using tennis as a platform since the very beginning.”
