Lucinda Miller remains found : Information provided by an Uber driver led detectives to discover human remains believed to be those of missing woman Lucinda Williams, coinciding with the third anniversary of her disappearance.
The remains were found today in bushland in regional Victoria during a renewed two-day search effort.
Miller, 24, was last seen on October 16, 2022, after taking a rideshare from Melbourne to her home in Neerim South, West Gippsland, at around 11:30 a.m.

Her death is not being considered suspicious.
Acting Inspector Paula Linford told reporters that while the remains still require forensic examination, they appear to be consistent with those of Miller.
The body was located just 80 metres from the road, hidden in dense bushland.
“It’s still very, very early to determine a cause of death,” Linford said, adding that Miller had been “very unwell.”
Large-Scale Search Effort and Community Support
“That’s about all I can say on that matter,” she noted.
Police were led to the discovery after a member of the public provided new information, which prompted investigators to review rideshare data and identify a fresh lead.
An Uber driver later provided crucial new information that helped investigators narrow down Miller’s location.
At the time, that was what he remembered,” Linford explained. “But the new details we received pointed us to a different area.
During the search, police discovered some clothing and a vodka bottle.
Specially trained dogs were also deployed to detect electronic devices in hopes of finding Miller’s phone — however, the phone has not yet been recovered.
