Plans to construct a new hospital in south-west Sydney have received a significant boost with a $700 million investment,

The upcoming Bankstown Hospital will feature a range of critical services, including an emergency department,

operating theatres, an intensive care unit, as well as surgical, medical, mental health, and women’s and children’s health services.

The hospital project, originally announced by the Berejiklian government in 2019 with an allocated budget of $1.3 billion,

Premier Chris Minns today revealed an additional $700 million in funding for the new hospital, bringing the total investment to $2 billion.
