woman critically injured Launceston : A 67-year-old woman has been left in critical condition after a ute crashed through a busy Launceston food court during lunchtime.
The vehicle ploughed into Morty’s The Food Place on Wellington Street around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, striking the woman and causing severe injuries. She was urgently transported to Launceston General Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Inspector Aleena Crack stated that the cause of the incident remains unclear, adding that the male driver was also taken to hospital. She confirmed that the crash led to a power outage in the area and caused extensive damage to the building’s front and the interior of the food court.
As part of our investigation, we’ll be reviewing CCTV footage from the complex and nearby areas to gain a clearer understanding of what happened,” she said.

Thai Express employee Carmen Thu told the ABC that she was working inside the food court when she saw the vehicle coming toward them.
