It’s been a whirlwind few weeks, but I’m doing well – sporting a couple of tough new scars, a slightly smaller kidney, and a whole lot more resilience! I’m staying positive and looking forward to getting home, focusing on recovery, and then working my way back to the water,” Fox said in a statement.

The popular paddler also expressed her gratitude to her medical team on Instagram.

The surgery went really well and I’m on the mend. I’m so thankful to the incredible medical staff for their care and expertise – a huge thank you to Dr Mohan Arianayagam and his team, Dr Stephen Nolan, Dr Parrapil, the wonderful nurses and physios at Norwest, Dr Scott Reid, my physio Tony, my psychologist Chris, and the Paddle Aus team for their amazing support,” she wrote.

And of course, to my wonderful family and friends.

Paddle Australia also shared their well wishes, saying in a statement:

Jessica’s health and recovery are our top priorities, and while she focuses on getting better, she will not compete in ICF World Cups 4 & 5.
