EXCLUSIVE: When Aussie tennis legend Todd Woodbridge retired from his sporting career, he never imagined he’d end up hosting a TV game show.
Even after spending 15 years in sports broadcasting, there were doubts when he was offered the role of host for Tipping Point Australia.
But just two years later, Tipping Point has become the nation’s favourite game show — and Todd has landed a prestigious Logie nomination for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.
Todd Woodbridge’s Unlikely Journey: From Tennis Champion to Beloved Game Show Host
It’s incredibly rewarding to receive this nomination, especially because at the start of the show, I felt a strong need to prove myself — to show people I was capable and truly earned this opportunity,”
That’s when my competitive spirit from my sporting days kicked in. I thought, ‘Alright, I’m going to give it everything I’ve got and prove I can do this.’
How the Aussie Legend Found a New Calling on Tipping Point Australia — and Earned a Logie Nod
It means a lot to me and to the entire team behind the show. This recognition isn’t just mine — it belongs to everyone who’s helped make Tipping Point a success.

It’s for our executive producers and all the behind-the-scenes crew, because without their support, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do what I’ve done.
When the opportunity first came along, it was Todd’s wife Natasha and their kids, Zara (23) and Beau (22), who encouraged him to take the leap.
They knew how much I enjoy talking and connecting with people, and Tash and the kids were confident it would be a great fit for me,” he said.
They never would’ve encouraged me to take it on if they didn’t believe I could succeed at it.
Three of The Block’s most iconic faces — host Scott Cam, foreman Dan Reilly, and judge Shaynna Blaze — will battle it out in an exciting $40,000 charity special.
While Todd typically stays neutral, he admitted he was quietly rooting for Dan and his chosen charity, the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at The Royal Women’s Hospital, following the recent heartbreaking loss of Dan’s baby daughter, Billie.
I hadn’t met Dan before, and hearing him open up about the personal journey he and his wife Dani have been through was truly moving,” Todd shared.
He took us on such an emotional ride — everyone was eager to support him.
Even with Foreman Dan and Scotty around, Todd admitted he didn’t ask for any renovation advice, joking, “That kind of thing is definitely outside my wheelhouse.
My wife Natasha and I love design and renovations, but when it comes to the hands-on stuff, we’re not exactly pros,” he laughed.
If there’s one thing Todd picked up from longtime Block host Scotty, it was the iconic ‘tools down’ whistle.
I’ve definitely still got some work to do on that,” Todd joked.
