SYDNEY’S NORTHERN BEACHES REOPEN AFTER SHARK SIGHTINGS: SWIMMERS URGED TO STAY VIGILANT

Authorities have urged swimmers to remain cautious after two separate shark sightings were reported on Sydney’s northern beaches this afternoon.

Beaches stretching from Manly to Freshwater were closed when a shark monitoring sensor detected a tagged tiger shark near the North Steyne receiver.

Lifeguards from Northern Beaches Council, along with Surf Life Saving NSW patrols, deployed jet-skis to scan the area and drive the shark back out to sea.

Authorities are reminding swimmers to stick to patrolled beaches, remain vigilant, and leave the water immediately if a shark alarm is activated.
