A European study has discovered that just five days of overeating can condition the brain for long-term unhealthy eating habits.
Researchers in Germany enlisted 29 healthy men in their 20s to examine the effects of a high-calorie diet on brain function.
One group consumed ultra-processed foods — including chocolate bars, brownies, and chips — for five days to intentionally increase their calorie intake.
The participants were compared to a control group following a regular diet.
