The Queensland government has officially unveiled its stadium plans for the 2032 Olympics.
Until then, the Gabba will continue to host AFL home games before being demolished to make way for residential development.
Currently, the Gabba accommodates 37,000 spectators for AFL matches, with the Lions selling out nine of their 12 games in the 2024 season.
Lions CEO Greg Swann expressed his excitement over the announcement, acknowledging the Gabba’s legacy while emphasizing the need for change.
